Description

Honda-style PZ19 carburetor for 4-stroke single cylinder air cooled gas engines. This carburetor has a 19mm engine-side diameter intake and a manual cable choke that is mounted on the right side. The cable is not included.

The justly famous Honda Cub series enjoyed one of the longest production runs in motorsports history, and came in a variety of model designations; C50, C70, Passport, etc. Over the years there were many minor parts changes and a bewildering myriad of redesigns. It can be safely said that very few parts from the earliest made examples would be fully interchangeable with the last models made. Therefore, this carb may fit some, but not all Honda Cub models and production years. In addition, this same carburetor works on the long discontinued Honda ATC-70 3-wheeled ATV.

Before ordering this carburetor, or any part for a vintage scooter, please carefully compare the photographs above, as well as the data on the Specs tab, with your old item that you are replacing.

But that's not all! Monster Scooter Parts gives you a choice of configurations for this carb. You can order it either with or without a 35mm Air Filter.

Do I need a PZ19 carburetor or a PZ22 carburetor?
If you are bewildered by the carburetor choices you are not alone. The PZ19 and PZ22 carbs are very similar; both carburetors sharing the same external physical dimensions, including a 48 mm mounting hole spacing. The only real difference is in the diameter of the engine-side intake; the PZ19 uses a 19 mm opening while the PZ22's engine-side measures a nominal 22 mm. Both carburetors can be used on engines from 50cc up to 125cc.

So which is right for your machine? In general, the PZ19 is more common on 50cc, 70cc, and 90cc engines as these require a bit less power that their larger cousins. The PZ22 is a better choice if your engine is in the 110cc to 125cc class simply because it takes a larger dose of the gas/air mix to run the larger engine at peak performance. Although the PZ22 provides a bit more power, it comes at the cost of greater fuel consumption.
