Our thermostat for the Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV is compatible with all production models from 1996 through 2004. This little unit comes complete with the rubber seal/gasket.
Thermostats are used to regulate the coolant in the ATV's system. The higher the engine temperature, the more coolant is allowed to pass through the thermostat. Once the engine temperature is at the desired level, the thermostat restricts the coolant flow in order to maintain the proper temperature.
