PD42J-A Carburetor for the Yamaha YXR660 Rhino 660 ATV

Our 42 mm PD42J-A carburetor for the Yamaha Rhino YXR660 660 ATV makes a perfect replacement for the factory carbs on Yamaha 660 engines. Yamaha used this style and size carb on Rhino models manufactured in 2004 through 2007.

In addition to the Yamaha Rhino YXR660 660, this carburetor may be compatible with a number of other powersports brands and models using 500cc to 700cc gas engines.

Note this PD42J-A carburetor is nearly identical to the PD42J model, with the difference being the PD42J-A model has a longer, extended, choke control mechanism.

Constant Velocity Carburetors:
The constant velocity carburetor, often referred to as a CV carb, operates through the use of a slide, tapered needle, diaphragm, and a butterfly. The throttle cable is not connected to the slide, it operates the butterfly which is located on the engine side of the carburetor. As the butterfly is opened more air is able to flow in. This changes the air pressure in the bore, pushing up the diaphragm and drawing the slide and tapered needle with it. Similar to the cable slide carburetor, when the needle is raised more fuel is supplied and as the butterfly opens more air is added to the mix.
