When to replace the joystick

Joysticks wear in ways that are easy to miss until they become a safety issue. Replace yours if the chair drifts or creeps when the lever is centered, if the stick no longer springs back cleanly to neutral, if response is inconsistent or laggy in one direction, or if the control panel goes dark or throws errors intermittently. Damage to the cable — pinching at the armrest pivot, chafing where it routes along the frame, or a bent connector pin — produces the same symptoms and is worth inspecting before you conclude the joystick itself has failed.

Fitment

Fits the Pride Jazzy Carbon 27 and the Jazzy Carbon HD. Confirm the part number on your existing joystick before ordering — Pride has used more than one controller across the Jazzy range, and the connector and programming are not interchangeable between them.

Installation

The joystick mounts to the bracket on the armrest and connects to the chair's controller through the supplied cable. Power the chair down completely before disconnecting anything, and route the new cable along the same path as the original so it doesn't catch when the chair folds. If the chair requires programming after a controller swap, have your dealer or a qualified technician complete that step.
