Description
Description
The 196cc 6.5 HP Honda GX200 clone engine (Chinese 168F/168FA/168FB) is one of the most widely -- if not the widest -- used gasoline engine in the world today. Commonly known as the "Honda-clone" in reference to its initial brand, this design revolutionized the concept of small engines for both motor sports and portable utility equipment. This engine is the perfect replacement for a 196cc mini bike engine, as well as on go karts, and a whole host of generators, pressure sprayers, water pumps, snow blowers, and a thousand other products.
This EPA and CARB certified mini bike and go cart engine is a single cylinder air cooled engine ideal for lightweight applications, including custom projects. With Monster Scooter Parts' convenient inventory of spare and replacement ATV & go kart parts, there is no longer any need for the home mini bike or go cart builder to scrounge second-hand "junk engines" as was all too often the case in years past.
This 6.5 HP Honda clone ATV & Go Kart engine includes the manual pull start, air filter, carburetor, fuel tank, muffler, and spark plug as shown. Please refer to the Specifications tab for more detailed information. Additionally, see our category pages for specific 196cc 6.5 "Honda-clone" engine parts.
PLEASE NOTE:
This engine is compatible with many applications using OEM engines that visually look like the detailed picture on the item page. Please ensure this engine will provide the form, fit, and function needed on your custom scooter, go kart, or portable utility product prior to ordering.
In addition, this engine uses a 20 mm X 50 mm shaft that is slightly too large in diameter for use with a standard 3/4" clutch. Despite its very close similarity to the 196cc JF200 engine for the Baja MB165/MB200 mini bike, it is not compatible unless the Baja clutch is modified for a 20 mm shaft. With less than a single millimeter's difference between the 3/4" and 20 mm shaft diameters, any automotive machine shop with a drill press should be able to quickly and inexpensively ream a standard clutch bore to perfectly fit this engine's metric shaft.
