Description

This heavy-duty 24 volt 8.0 amp XLR charger is made by Universal Power Group (UPG), and Invacare offers it as original equipment on a number of power chair models. It is for gel or AGM sealed lead acid batteries of 17 Ah or larger on mobility scooters and power chairs with an off-board female XLR charging socket. Set the selector switch to Gel or AGM to match your batteries. It is not compatible with lithium batteries.

It uses a 3-stage charge (bulk, absorption, float) and shuts off automatically when charging is complete, then holds the battery in float mode. It has short circuit, reverse polarity, over current, over voltage and low voltage protection, and LEDs show power on, charging and charged. As a safety feature, it will not operate if the battery has less than 9 volts. Charging time depends on how depleted the batteries are. UL listed; dry location use only.
