The first-generation Golden Technologies Companion I scooter (GC221/GC222/GC223) used a pair of U1 batteries, and an on-board battery charger.

The older models of the Golden Companion I scooters used wheel assemblies with gray tires. Note that these wheel assemblies are not interchangeable with the second-generation, black tire models.
