Description
The UPG D1724 is a compact, switchable battery charger for 6 volt and 12 volt sealed lead acid batteries. A slide switch lets you choose the 6V or 12V setting, so a single charger can handle the batteries in ride-on toys, fish finders, security systems, emergency lighting, and other small equipment.
Alligator clip connectors attach directly to the battery terminals, so there's no need to match a specific plug. Connect red to positive (+) and black to negative (-), set the switch to match your battery's voltage, and plug the charger into a standard 120V household outlet.
The D1724 delivers a gentle 500mA charge, which is well suited to small and mid-size SLA and AGM batteries. Because it charges at a low rate, larger batteries take longer. For example, a fully drained 12V 9Ah battery can take most of a day to recharge.
This is a single stage charger without automatic shut-off. Monitor the battery while charging and disconnect the charger once the battery is fully charged, rather than leaving it connected long-term. Always confirm the switch matches your battery's voltage before charging. This charger is designed for sealed lead acid batteries only and should not be used on lithium batteries.
