When your scooter needs a new electromagnetic brake, we have the solution. Here is the brake assembly for Shoprider Sunrunner 3 and Sunrunner 4 mobility scooters. Defective or damaged brake assemblies should be replaced as soon as possible, for the safety of the rider and the scooter.
A Shoprider mobility scooter uses the regenerative braking system, sometimes referred to as an electro-mechanical dynamic scooter brake. When the operator releases the throttle, the mobility scooter brake automatically slows the scooter to a stop. In other words; the brake is "on" by default until the throttle is again engaged. This is what keeps an unattended scooter from rolling away downhill.
