Description
This set of two 10x4.50-5 hard PVC tire sleeves fits over the rear tires of drift trikes. The sleeves reduce rear tire traction to give a faster drift. Need only one? See the single 10x4.50-5 PVC Plastic Tire Sleeve. We also offer a set of two 11x7.10-5 PVC Plastic Tire Sleeves.
Wear: Drifting puts extra sideways force on the wheels, so the sleeves wear faster than a tire that only rolls forward. The rougher the terrain, the faster the wear.
Mounting: The sleeves fit tightly. Let some air out of the tire, lubricate it with soap suds, and press the sleeve on from the end with the chamfered lugs. A wood or rubber mallet can help. Once the sleeve is in place, refill the tire to the correct pressure. Strips of self-adhesive grip tape (like skateboard deck tape) on the sleeve's inner face can help it grip the tire.
