The 25K ohm speed potentiometer (or speed pot) with a soft grip knob for the Pride Celebrity X (SC400/SC440), Celebrity XL (SC445), and Hurricane (PMV500) mobility scooters is a comfortably ergonomic yet inexpensive solution for the potentiometer "issues" that result from your scooter's faulty speed control.
The speed potentiometer, otherwise known as the speed pot, the variable speed resistor, or the rabbit/turtle dial, controls and maintains the speed of your mobility scooter. A faulty speed pot may lead to inconsistent throttling or motion, or no movement at all. Failing speed potentiometers should be replaced immediately for the safety of the scooter and the user.
