Controllers durable and dependable electronics, but a mobility scooter controller is often susceptible to moisture induced internal corrosion damage from excessive humidity, especially if stored unused for any long period. In addition, a scooter controller can be damaged by electrical shorts resulting from incorrect battery connection. Although controllers are not the least expensive of mobility scooter parts, they are often replaced as a unit rather than repaired.
