The classic Schwinn Sting-Ray Krate differed from the standard 20" Sting-Ray with this mounted on the front rim, giving the Krate its distinctively rakish look,even among its standard Sting-Ray stablemates.
Note: This 16" front tire is not compatible with standard Sting-Ray models with 20" front tires.
The secret to this humble little tire's stroller perfection is its tread. Like a scaled-down tire from off of a classic street legal Euro-scooter, this "street tread" uses radiating shallow grooves (or "sipes") that provide the necessary traction on the concrete sidewalk or the city park lawn, yet smooth enough to be a breeze to push and control.
